Dear Year 10 families,
We are writing to remind you that the deadline for securing and logging work experience placements is fast approaching. The final deadline is Wednesday 2nd April, which is now just over four weeks away.
All Year 10 students will be on work experience from 29th June to 3rd July, and it is essential that placements are confirmed and fully processed on Unifrog by 2nd April.
Work experience is an incredibly valuable opportunity. It allows students to explore potential career paths, develop transferable skills, build confidence, and strengthen their CV. Securing a placement early also provides reassurance and something exciting to look forward to at the end of the module.
We are very pleased to say that a number of Year 10 students have already secured their placements. Well done to those students and families who have organised this so promptly. It has been exciting to see the wide variation of placements already confirmed, reflecting the diverse interests and ambitions across the year group.
If your child has not yet secured a placement, we strongly encourage you to begin contacting potential employers as soon as possible. Students and families are responsible for sourcing their own placements.
Once a placement has been agreed with an employer, students must log the full details onto their Unifrog account using the Placements tool. This is a crucial step. The placement is not complete until it has been added to Unifrog and all required checks and permissions have been processed through the system.
Please ensure:
- The employer has formally agreed to host your child
- Your child logs the placement accurately on Unifrog
- All emails from Unifrog are responded to promptly to avoid delays
If you require support or guidance, please refer to the placement guides available on Unifrog.
If you have any questions, please contact the Turing mailbox at turingcollege@rainham.latrust.org.uk with the subject FAO Miss Bashford.
Thank you for your continued support in helping your child secure a meaningful and rewarding placement. We look forward to seeing all students successfully prepared for this important experience.
Kind regards,
Miss Bashford
