We are delighted to advise you that our first-ever LAR Sports Day has been scheduled for Tuesday 5th July 2022. All students will be participating in their forms to gain first place in their college and have the chance to compete in the College Sports Cup Final.
With this in mind, could you please ensure that your child arrives at school in their full Leigh Academy Rainham PE Kit wearing their PE trainers. Students need to bring plenty of water, although they will have access to water throughout the day and due to the majority of the day being on the field with limited shade, sun hats and sunscreen are advised. Cucina will be available as usual at break and lunch times.
Students are expected to bring books and Chromebooks with them for the day in case of bad weather.
The activities that students can volunteer to participate in are as follows:
- Track – 100m, 200m, 300/400m, 800m
- Field- Shot Put, Javelin, Standing Long (Broad) Jump
- Netball
- Badminton
- Table Tennis
- Orienteering
Each student is expected to participate in at least 2 sporting events and tutors will be helping students pick activities they are comfortable with.
