Student Leadership
At Leigh Academy Rainham, the Student Leadership Council Team plays a vital role in shaping school life. With one dedicated representative from each college tutor group, we meet fortnightly—under the guidance of Mr Smith—to share ideas, voice concerns, and take turns recording minutes and action points. Our purpose is clear: to ensure every student has a say in how our academy grows and improves.
We proudly volunteer for this role because we believe in the power of student voice. Through open discussion and active engagement with the Senior Leadership Team, we’ve seen our suggestions turn into real change—from launching an annual charity non-uniform day and bake sale for Children in Need, to improving lunchtime seating arrangements and creating exciting termly college competitions. We’ve also supported the school community by acting as tour guides and transition mentors for visitors and incoming Year 6 students.
The Student Leadership Council is run by students, for students. So, if there’s something you dream, believe, or want to achieve—talk to your representative. Together, we’re making a difference.
